Senior Information Security Architect (Remote)

About the Role

Our client is seeking a visionary Senior Information Security Architect to design and lead the implementation of secure systems and infrastructure for their fully remote workforce, based in Kimberley . This senior role requires a deep understanding of security principles, threat modeling, and the ability to translate business requirements into secure, scalable technical solutions. You will be responsible for defining security standards, evaluating new technologies, and ensuring our architecture meets the highest security benchmarks in a distributed environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain the organization's overall information security architecture .
• Define security requirements and best practices for infrastructure, applications, and cloud environments.
• Conduct threat modeling and risk assessments for new systems and features.
• Evaluate and recommend new security technologies and solutions.
• Collaborate with engineering and operations teams to ensure secure implementation of designs.
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior security staff.

Requirements

• Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field.
• 8+ years of experience in information security, with a significant focus on architecture and design.
• Proven expertise in designing secure solutions for on-premises, cloud (AWS, Azure), and hybrid environments.
• Deep knowledge of network security , cryptography, identity and access management, and application security.
• Experience with security frameworks (NIST, ISO 27001) and relevant certifications (CISSP, SABSA).
• Excellent analytical, strategic thinking, and communication skills.
