Key Responsibilities

• Design and write engaging, branching narratives, storylines, dialogue, and character backstories for interactive entertainment projects.
• Develop and document narrative frameworks, world-building elements, and lore that enrich the player experience.
• Collaborate with game designers, writers, and other stakeholders to ensure narrative coherence and thematic consistency across all project aspects.
• Implement narrative content using proprietary tools and scripting languages, working closely with technical teams to integrate narrative systems effectively.
• Create interactive fiction elements, including quest design, mission scripting, and choice-and-consequence systems.
• Conduct player-focused narrative research and analysis to inform design decisions and enhance player immersion.
• Mentor junior narrative designers and contribute to the continuous improvement of narrative development processes.
• Participate in playtesting sessions to gather feedback and iterate on narrative design.
• Contribute to the overall creative vision and strategic direction of narrative content.

Requirements

• Master's degree in Creative Writing, Literature, Game Design, or a related humanities field, or equivalent extensive professional experience.
• Minimum of 8 years of professional experience in narrative design, interactive storytelling, or game writing, with a significant portfolio showcasing complex narrative systems.
• Exceptional writing, editing, and storytelling skills, with a demonstrated ability to craft emotionally resonant and memorable characters and plots.
• Proficiency with narrative design tools (e.g., Twine, Articy:draft) and game engines (e.g., Unity, Unreal Engine).
• Experience with scripting languages (e.g., C#, Python, Lua) for narrative implementation is highly desirable.
• Strong understanding of player motivation, agency, and narrative pacing in interactive media.
• Excellent collaboration, communication, and presentation skills, with the ability to articulate complex narrative concepts clearly.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously in a remote environment.
