About the Role
Our client is searching for an experienced and proactive Senior IT Support Specialist to join their fully remote IT department, supporting users across various locations, including Bloemfontein. This role requires a deep understanding of IT infrastructure, troubleshooting complex issues, and providing exceptional end-user support. You will be instrumental in maintaining system uptime, implementing IT solutions, and mentoring junior team members in a distributed work environment. Key Responsibilities
- Provide advanced technical support for hardware, software, operating systems, and network issues.
- Manage and resolve escalated IT support tickets efficiently and effectively.
- Perform system administration tasks, including user account management and software deployment.
- Develop and maintain IT documentation, standard operating procedures, and knowledge base articles.
- Proactively identify and address potential IT issues to prevent system downtime.
- Mentor and guide junior IT support staff, fostering a collaborative remote team dynamic.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in IT support, helpdesk, or system administration.
- Strong proficiency with Windows Server, Active Directory, and network troubleshooting.
- Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., Microsoft 365, Azure) is highly desirable.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work independently.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, essential for remote collaboration.
- Relevant certifications (e.g., CompTIA A+, Network+, MCSA) are a plus.
