Job Role - Java Backend Engineer

• Location: Remote (Candidates must be based in Poland)
• Office Hub: Kraków, Poland
• Contract: 12 Months (B2B/Freelance)

We are seeking an experienced Senior Java Backend Engineer to join a high-performing engineering team on a 12-month B2B/Freelance contract, with a strong possibility of extension.

This is an exciting opportunity to work on a leading technology platform, collaborating with top-tier engineers in a fast-paced, international environment. You'll play a key role in shaping scalable backend solutions, driving technical excellence, and supporting teams across multiple stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

• Collaborate with highly skilled engineering teams to build and scale a best-in-class platform.
• Drive technical excellence and contribute to cross-team and cross-functional alignment.
• Design, develop, and maintain robust backend services and microservices-based architectures.
• Work with modern integration frameworks and implement enterprise integration patterns.
• Coach and mentor developers on both client and partner teams.
• Deliver technical training, workshops, and best-practice guidance.
• Collaborate effectively within diverse, multicultural teams across international locations.
• Stay up to date with emerging technologies and continuously improve existing solutions.

Required Skills & Experience

• Minimum 5 years of experience in a Java Backend Engineering role.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related technical field (or equivalent practical experience).
• Excellent English communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills.
• Strong hands-on experience with:
• Java
• Spring / Spring Boot
• Microservices Architecture
• Integration Patterns
• Apache Camel
• Spring Integration
• Proven ability to adapt to evolving technologies and software landscapes.
• Passion for building high-quality, scalable, and maintainable solutions.
• Experience coaching, mentoring, and supporting development teams.
