About the Role

Our client is seeking an accomplished and proactive Senior Legal Counsel to join their fully remote legal team, supporting operations nationwide but based operationally out of Benoni . This critical role involves providing expert legal advice on a broad spectrum of corporate and commercial matters, ensuring robust compliance and mitigating risks. You will collaborate closely with senior management and various departments to navigate complex legal landscapes. Key Responsibilities

• Provide strategic legal counsel on corporate governance, commercial contracts, and regulatory compliance.
• Draft, review, and negotiate complex agreements, including mergers, acquisitions, and strategic partnerships.
• Conduct thorough legal research and analysis to advise on new business initiatives and potential risks.
• Manage and oversee external legal counsel on specialized matters.

Requirements

• Admitted Attorney with a minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in corporate and commercial law.
• Proven track record in handling complex transactional work and providing strategic legal advice.
• Deep understanding of South African corporate law and relevant industry regulations.
• Exceptional analytical, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders remotely.
