Senior Legal Counsel - Remote Contract Specialist

Key Responsibilities

• Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of commercial contracts, including service agreements, partnership agreements, NDAs, and licensing agreements.
• Provide expert legal advice and strategic guidance on corporate governance, regulatory compliance, and risk mitigation.
• Conduct thorough legal research and analysis to support business decisions and advise on potential legal implications.
• Manage and resolve legal disputes and claims, liaising with external counsel as necessary.
• Develop and implement standardized legal templates and processes to enhance efficiency and consistency.
• Stay abreast of changes in relevant laws and regulations and advise on their impact on the business.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders across various departments to understand their legal needs and provide tailored solutions.
• Ensure all contractual arrangements align with the company's strategic objectives and risk appetite.

Requirements

• A Bachelor of Laws (LLB) degree or equivalent legal qualification.
• Admission as an Attorney or Advocate of the High Court of South Africa.
• A minimum of 7 years of post-qualification experience in corporate law, contract law, and commercial litigation.
• Demonstrated experience in drafting and negotiating complex international contracts.
• In-depth knowledge of South African corporate and commercial law.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex legal concepts clearly and concisely.
• Proven ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and meet tight deadlines in a remote setting.
• High level of professionalism, integrity, and attention to detail.
• Proficiency in legal research databases and standard office software.
