Senior Mechanical Engineer · $20/hr Remote

• Position: Pod lead - Mechanical & Aerospace Engineering (Terminal Bench Science)
• Type: Contract
• Compensation: $15-$20/hr
• Location: Remote
• Commitment: 10 40 hours/week
• Start Date: Immediately

Role Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor a pod of technical trainers for engineering tasks
• Review engineering tasks end to end for accuracy and quality
• Validate tasks involving FEA, CFD, thermodynamics, and flight simulation
• Ensure tasks reflect authentic mechanical and aerospace engineering workflows
• Provide technical feedback and track revisions for task approval
• Onboard trainers and maintain technical documentation and best practices

Requirements

• Ph.D., postdoctoral experience, or equivalent in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering
• Strong programming skills in Python, C/C++, Fortran, or MATLAB/Octave
• Hands-on expertise in FEA, CFD, dynamics, or propulsion modeling
• Strong understanding of engineering simulation and numerical methods
• Experience reviewing complex technical work and engineering simulations
• Excellent written communication skills for providing precise feedback
• Experience mentoring or leading small technical teams
