Senior Mechanical Engineer - Remote Specialist

About the Role

Our client is looking for a highly experienced Senior Mechanical Engineer to join their fully remote team, supporting projects based out of Richards Bay. This role is critical for driving innovation in mechanical system design and optimization, with a focus on robust engineering solutions that can be developed and managed from a distance. You will be responsible for leading complex design initiatives, conducting advanced analyses, and collaborating effectively with globally distributed teams. This position demands a proactive, self-motivated individual with a strong track record in delivering high-quality engineering outcomes in a virtual setting.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the design, development, and implementation of complex mechanical systems and equipment.
• Perform advanced engineering analysis including FEA, CFD, and vibration analysis to optimize performance and reliability.
• Develop technical specifications, manufacturing drawings, and comprehensive documentation for global deployment.
• Manage engineering projects from conception through to successful implementation, ensuring adherence to scope, budget, and timeline.
• Collaborate closely with manufacturing, R&D, and project management teams, leveraging remote collaboration tools effectively.
• Mentor and guide junior engineers and technicians remotely, ensuring knowledge transfer and skill development.

Requirements

• Master's degree or Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering.
• 10+ years of experience in mechanical design, analysis, and project leadership.
• Expertise in advanced CAD/CAE software suites and simulation techniques.
• Demonstrated success in managing projects and delivering results in a remote work environment.
• Excellent communication, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work autonomously.
