Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Senior Pega Systems Architect (SSA) to join a major German financial institution for a high-impact, 6-month digital transformation project. In this role, you will design, develop, and implement robust Pega business process management (BPM) solutions tailored for the banking sector.

This is a 100% remote contract starting immediately. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional agile teams to modernize core banking workflows, improve customer journeys, and ensure compliance with strict financial regulations.

Key Responsibilities

• Architecture & Design: Architect, design, and implement technical solutions using Pega Platform (PRPC) adhering to Pega guardrails and banking security standards.
• Development: Lead the development of complex enterprise applications, including data modeling, case design, user interface component building, and access control.
• Integration: Build and maintain secure integrations between Pega and legacy banking systems, databases, and third-party APIs (REST/SOAP).
• Code Quality & Governance: Conduct rigorous code reviews, ensure optimal performance tuning, and maintain low guardrail warning scores.
• Collaboration: Partner with Business Analysts, Product Owners, and Scrum Masters to translate complex financial business requirements into scalable technical designs.
• Mentorship: Guide and support junior Pega developers on best practices and architecture principles.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Pega Certification: Certified Senior System Architect (CSSA) is mandatory.
• Experience: Minimum of 5+ years of hands‑on experience in Pega implementation, architecture, and development.
• Domain Expertise: Proven track record working within the Financial Services / Banking sector. Understanding of core banking processes, KYC/AML, or credit risk workflows is highly advantageous.
• Technical Proficiency: Deep knowledge of Pega architecture, Case Management, Data Pages, Report Definitions, Connectors/Services, and Security Frameworks.
• Agile Framework: Strong experience working within an Agile/Scrum environment.
• Availability: Ability to start immediately or within a short notice period.

Language & Communication

• English: Fluent (written and spoken) is required as the primary project language.
• German: Professional working proficiency (B2/C1+) is highly beneficial and preferred for stakeholder communication.
