Senior Project Engineer - Remote Infrastructure Development

About the Role

Our client is seeking an experienced Senior Project Engineer for a fully remote position, supporting infrastructure development initiatives that may involve projects in and around the Paarl area but executed remotely. This role demands exceptional project management and technical engineering skills, applied within a distributed team environment. You will be responsible for the successful planning, execution, and delivery of complex civil engineering projects, coordinating with stakeholders and teams across various locations. The position offers a unique opportunity to leverage technology and innovative communication strategies to manage projects effectively, fostering a results-driven culture independent of physical location.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the planning and execution of civil engineering projects from initiation to closure.
• Manage project scope, budgets, schedules, and resources in a remote setting.
• Coordinate with design teams, contractors, and clients through virtual communication channels.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant engineering standards, regulations, and safety protocols.
• Identify and mitigate project risks through proactive planning and communication.
• Prepare progress reports, technical documentation, and project updates for stakeholders.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
• Minimum of 9 years of progressive experience in civil engineering project management.
• Proven ability to manage complex projects remotely, demonstrating strong organizational and communication skills.
• Experience with project management software and collaboration tools (e.g., Asana, Jira, Microsoft Teams).
• Familiarity with South African civil engineering standards and practices.
• Professional registration (e.g., Pr. Eng) is an advantage.
