About the Role
Our client, a leader in the energy sector, is seeking an accomplished Senior Project Manager to lead significant Oil & Gas infrastructure projects . This is a remote-first role, requiring exceptional organizational and communication skills to manage complex, multi-disciplinary projects from conception through to completion, regardless of physical location. You will be responsible for project planning, execution, budget management, risk mitigation, and stakeholder coordination, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within scope, and to the highest quality standards. This position is ideal for a seasoned professional who thrives in a remote environment and can effectively drive results for critical infrastructure developments across various geographies, supporting teams in areas like Sandton and beyond.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the planning, execution, and delivery of large-scale oil and gas infrastructure projects.
- Develop detailed project plans, including scope, budget, schedule, resource allocation, and risk management strategies.
- Manage project finances, ensuring effective cost control and financial reporting.
- Coordinate and collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineering, procurement, construction, and operations.
- Oversee contractor and vendor performance, ensuring adherence to project requirements and quality standards.
- Identify, assess, and mitigate project risks and issues proactively.
- Communicate project status, progress, and challenges effectively to senior management and stakeholders.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering (e.g., Civil, Mechanical, Petroleum) or a related technical discipline; PMP certification is highly desirable.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in project management, with a significant portion focused on Oil & Gas infrastructure projects.
- Proven track record of successfully managing projects with multi-million dollar budgets and complex timelines.
- Strong knowledge of project management methodologies, tools, and techniques.
- Excellent leadership, negotiation, and communication skills, particularly in a remote working context.
- Demonstrated ability to manage diverse project teams and stakeholder expectations, supporting operations globally and in key centers like Sandton.
