Senior Real Estate Acquisitions Specialist (Remote)

About the Role

Our client, a leading national real estate investment and development company, is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Real Estate Acquisitions Specialist to join their fully remote team. This role is critical in identifying, analyzing, and executing new real estate investment opportunities across South Africa. The ideal candidate will possess a strong financial acumen, exceptional deal-making skills, and a deep understanding of various real estate asset classes. Operating remotely, you will leverage your expertise to source and vet potential acquisitions, conduct rigorous due diligence, and negotiate favourable terms. This position offers the flexibility to work from anywhere within South Africa, contributing to significant investment strategies on a national scale.

Key Responsibilities

• Identify and source new real estate investment opportunities nationwide through proactive market research and networking.
• Conduct detailed financial analysis, including cash flow modeling, pro forma underwriting, and sensitivity analysis for potential acquisitions.
• Perform comprehensive due diligence, including market, physical, legal, and financial aspects of potential deals.
• Negotiate purchase agreements, letters of intent, and other transaction-related documents.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with sellers, brokers, lenders, legal counsel, and other industry professionals.
• Prepare detailed investment memorandums and presentations for the investment committee.
• Stay abreast of market trends, economic conditions, and regulatory changes impacting real estate investments.
• Collaborate effectively with internal teams, including legal, finance, and development, to ensure seamless transaction execution.
• Manage the deal pipeline and maintain accurate records of all acquisition activities.
• Contribute to the strategic direction of the company's investment portfolio.

Requirements

• A Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Real Estate, or a related field.
• A Master's degree or MBA is highly desirable.
• Minimum of 7 years of experience in real estate acquisitions, investment analysis, or corporate finance, with a strong focus on deal execution.
• Proven track record of successfully sourcing, underwriting, and closing complex real estate transactions.
• Advanced proficiency in financial modeling (Excel) and valuation techniques.
• Excellent negotiation, communication, and presentation skills.
• Demonstrated ability to work independently and manage multiple projects effectively in a remote setting.
• Experience with CRM and real estate data platforms is a plus.A strong understanding of various real estate asset classes (e.g., commercial, residential, industrial).
• Must be legally eligible to work in South Africa and have a reliable internet connection for remote work.
