About the Role Our client is looking for a highly skilled and experienced Senior Remote Mechanical Engineer to join their innovative engineering team, working entirely from home.

As a key member of the team, you will be involved in the full product development cycle, from concept to launch, collaborating with engineers and stakeholders worldwide, and based conceptually in Pretoria .

Key Responsibilities • Lead the design and development of complex mechanical systems and assemblies, ensuring optimal functionality and manufacturability. • Perform detailed engineering analysis , including stress, thermal, and dynamic simulations, to predict and verify system performance. • Create and maintain comprehensive design documentation, including detailed CAD models, engineering drawings, and Bills of Materials (BOMs). • Collaborate effectively with remote cross-functional teams, including product management, electrical engineering, and manufacturing, to ensure alignment and successful product delivery. • Provide technical leadership and guidance to junior engineers, review designs, and ensure adherence to engineering best practices. • Troubleshoot design issues, identify root causes, and implement effective solutions in a remote setting.

Requirements • Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field. • 8+ years of professional experience in mechanical design and development, with a focus on complex systems. • Expertise in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, Inventor) and FEA/CFD analysis tools . • Deep understanding of materials science, manufacturing processes, and product lifecycle management. • Proven ability to manage multiple projects concurrently and deliver high-quality results in a remote work environment.
