Senior Security Operations Center (SOC) Analyst (Remote)

About the Role

Our client is looking for a highly skilled and vigilant Senior Security Operations Center (SOC) Analyst to join their fully remote security team. In this critical role, you will be responsible for monitoring, detecting, analyzing, and responding to cybersecurity threats and incidents across the organization's networks and systems. You will play a key part in protecting our digital assets by providing real-time threat detection and mitigation, utilizing advanced security tools and methodologies. This position requires a proactive approach, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to work effectively in a dynamic, fast-paced remote environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Monitor security alerts from various security tools (SIEM, IDS/IPS, EDR) to identify potential threats.
• Analyze security incidents, investigate their root cause, and recommend appropriate containment and eradication actions.
• Develop and refine threat detection rules, correlation logic, and incident response playbooks.
• Perform threat hunting activities to proactively identify sophisticated threats that may have evaded automated defenses.
• Document security incidents and provide detailed reports on findings and remediation efforts.
• Mentor junior SOC analysts and contribute to the continuous improvement of SOC processes and capabilities.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• Minimum of 4 years of experience in a Security Operations Center (SOC) or similar security analysis role.
• Proficiency in using SIEM tools (e.g., Splunk, QRadar) and endpoint detection and response (EDR) solutions.
• Strong understanding of common attack vectors, malware, and threat actor tactics, techniques, and procedures (TTPs).
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work under pressure.
• Relevant certifications such as CompTIA Security+, CySA+, or GIAC certifications are a plus.
