Senior Telecoms Field Technician (Remote)

About the Role

Our client is seeking an experienced and dedicated Senior Telecoms Field Technician to join their fully remote team. This role is crucial for ensuring the optimal functioning of telecommunications equipment and infrastructure across various client sites, with all coordination and reporting handled remotely. You will leverage your expertise to perform complex installations, maintenance, and repairs, acting as a key technical resource for field operations. This position offers significant autonomy and the chance to make a substantial impact from your home office, supporting a vast network across diverse geographical locations while collaborating virtually with support and engineering teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform advanced installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of telecommunications equipment, including fiber optics, cellular base stations, and transmission systems.
• Diagnose and resolve complex technical issues reported by customers or monitoring systems remotely.
• Provide technical guidance and support to junior technicians and other field personnel via remote communication channels.
• Manage and maintain detailed technical documentation, including site surveys, installation reports, and repair logs.
• Adhere strictly to safety protocols and company standards during all field operations, ensuring efficient and effective service delivery.
• Conduct remote quality assurance checks and performance tuning of network components.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Telecoms Field Technician or similar role, with a strong emphasis on field operations.
• In-depth knowledge of telecommunications hardware, including fiber optic cabling, splicing, and testing equipment.
• Proficiency in diagnosing and repairing issues related to cellular networks (2G/3G/4G/5G), microwave links, and associated infrastructure.
• Excellent remote communication and problem-solving skills, with the ability to guide on-site personnel effectively.
• Familiarity with network monitoring tools and ticketing systems.
• Relevant technical certifications in telecommunications or networking are a strong plus.
