Senior Transportation Planner - Remote

About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Transportation Planner to join their team on a fully remote basis, supporting projects across South Africa, with a particular focus on Polokwane . This role is critical in developing innovative and sustainable transportation strategies and plans that address the evolving needs of communities. You will leverage advanced data analysis and modeling techniques to create efficient, safe, and accessible transportation networks. Key Responsibilities

• Lead the development and implementation of comprehensive transportation plans and policies.
• Conduct complex travel demand forecasting and network analysis using advanced modeling tools.
• Analyze traffic data, public transit ridership, and land use patterns to identify planning opportunities.
• Collaborate remotely with clients, government agencies, and multidisciplinary teams to ensure successful project outcomes.
• Prepare high-quality technical reports, feasibility studies, and policy recommendations.
• Mentor junior planners and contribute to the firm's expertise in transportation planning and modeling.

Requirements

• Master's degree in Transportation Planning, Civil Engineering, Urban Planning, or a related field.
• Minimum of 8 years of professional experience in transportation planning and analysis.
• Extensive experience with transportation modeling software (e.g., PTV Vissim, TransCAD, Cube) and GIS.
• Proven ability to manage complex projects and lead remote teams effectively.
• Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and strategic thinking skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills for remote collaboration and client presentations.
