About the Role
Our client is seeking an astute Credit Risk Analyst to join their fully remote team. This position is critical for evaluating the creditworthiness of potential borrowers and managing the associated risks for the institution. You will analyze financial data, develop risk models, and make recommendations to mitigate potential losses. Working from anywhere in South Africa, you will contribute to sound lending decisions within a dynamic financial services environment. Key Responsibilities
- Analyze financial statements, credit reports, and other data to assess borrower credit risk.
- Develop, implement, and monitor credit scoring models and risk management frameworks.
- Prepare detailed credit risk reports and present findings and recommendations to management.
- Monitor existing loan portfolios for signs of deteriorating credit quality.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant credit policies and regulatory requirements.
- Collaborate with lending teams to structure loans that align with risk appetite.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Statistics, or a related quantitative field.
- Minimum of 4 years of experience in credit risk analysis within the Banking & Finance industry.
- Proficiency in statistical analysis, data modeling, and relevant software (e.g., Excel, SAS, Python).
- Strong understanding of credit risk principles, financial markets, and regulatory landscape.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Ability to work effectively and independently in a remote team environment.
