About the Role
Our client is looking for a highly experienced Remote Senior Chemical Engineer specializing in Process Optimization to join their globally distributed team. This role involves leveraging advanced analytical techniques and modeling to drive significant improvements in efficiency, yield, and cost-effectiveness across diverse chemical manufacturing operations. You will work independently, collaborating with site-based teams virtually to diagnose issues, propose solutions, and implement best practices. Key Responsibilities
- Conduct in-depth analysis of plant operational data to identify key performance indicators (KPIs) and areas for process improvement.
- Develop and implement advanced control strategies and optimization models to enhance process stability and efficiency.
- Lead virtual teams in diagnosing and resolving complex operational problems remotely, utilizing data analytics and simulation tools.
- Provide expert technical guidance on process scale-up, debottlenecking, and technology implementation for global sites.
- Develop and deliver training materials on best practices in process optimization and advanced process control to site engineers.
- Stay abreast of emerging technologies and industry trends in process engineering and automation.
Requirements
- Master's or PhD in Chemical Engineering with a strong emphasis on process systems engineering and optimization.
- 10+ years of experience in chemical process engineering, with a proven track record in process optimization and advanced control.
- Expertise in process simulation software (Aspen Plus, HYSYS) and data analytics tools (e.g., Python, R, MATLAB).
- Strong understanding of statistical process control (SPC), design of experiments (DOE), and modeling techniques.
- Excellent virtual collaboration and communication skills, with the ability to influence and guide teams remotely.
- Demonstrated success in delivering measurable improvements in plant efficiency and profitability.
