About the Role
Our client is seeking an accomplished Lead Chemical Engineer to spearhead their advanced chemical process development initiatives, operating fully remotely to support their operations potentially near Richards Bay . This leadership role involves guiding a team of engineers, setting strategic technical direction, and driving innovation in process design and optimization. You will be instrumental in developing and implementing cutting-edge chemical engineering solutions that enhance efficiency, safety, and sustainability across the organization's facilities. This remote position requires exceptional leadership, strong technical acumen, and the ability to foster collaboration and mentorship across dispersed teams, contributing to the future of chemical engineering in KwaZulu-Natal .
Key Responsibilities
- Provide technical leadership and direction to a team of chemical engineers.
- Oversee the conceptualization, design, and implementation of complex chemical processes and plant expansions.
- Develop and implement strategies for process optimization, cost reduction, and waste minimization.
- Ensure adherence to the highest standards of safety, environmental compliance, and quality control.
- Collaborate with stakeholders across different departments and locations to align technical solutions with business objectives.
- Mentor and develop team members, fostering a high-performance and innovative work culture.
Requirements
- Master's or Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering or a closely related discipline.
- 10+ years of progressive experience in the chemical industry, with a strong focus on process design and project management.
- Proven track record of leading engineering teams and delivering complex projects successfully.
- Expert knowledge of chemical engineering principles, process simulation, and scale-up methodologies.
- Experience in developing and implementing sustainable chemical processes.
- Exceptional leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills suitable for a remote leadership role.
