About the Role

Our client is seeking a talented Remote Mechanical Engineer to join their collaborative product development team, working fully remotely from anywhere in South Africa. This role is centered on the design, development, and refinement of innovative mechanical products from concept through to production readiness. You will leverage your expertise in mechanical principles and CAD tools to create robust and efficient designs, working closely with a distributed team of professionals. Key Responsibilities

• Design, model, and simulate mechanical components and assemblies using advanced CAD software and analysis tools.
• Develop product concepts and detailed designs, ensuring they meet functional, performance, and cost requirements.
• Conduct stress analysis , thermal analysis, and other simulations to validate design integrity and performance.
• Collaborate with remote team members, including product managers, designers, and manufacturing engineers, using digital collaboration platforms.
• Prepare comprehensive technical documentation, including drawings, specifications, and test plans.
• Oversee prototype development and testing, analyze results, and implement design improvements.

Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
• Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in mechanical product design and development.
• Expertise in 3D CAD modeling software (e.g., SolidWorks, Inventor, CATIA) and simulation tools.
• Proven ability to work independently and manage project tasks effectively in a remote setting.
• Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, materials science, and electromechanical integration.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills for seamless remote collaboration.
