Remote Construction Estimator

About the Role

Our client is seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Remote Construction Estimator to join their dynamic team. This fully remote position involves preparing accurate cost estimates for a wide range of construction projects, from conceptual stages through to tender submissions. You will analyze project plans, specifications, and other documentation to quantify materials, labor, and equipment costs. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of construction methods, materials, and pricing, combined with excellent analytical and software skills. Key Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed and accurate cost estimates for construction projects of varying complexity.
• Quantify materials, labor, and equipment required for projects based on blueprints and specifications.
• Obtain quotes from suppliers and subcontractors and analyze bids for accuracy and completeness.
• Develop and maintain a database of historical cost data and pricing information.
• Review bid proposals and ensure compliance with tender requirements.
• Collaborate with project managers and design teams to refine estimates and provide cost advice.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Construction Estimator or in a similar role, with a strong portfolio of completed estimates.
• Proficiency in estimating software (e.g., PlanSwift, Buildxact, CostX) and MS Excel.
• Solid understanding of construction methods, materials, and sequencing.
• Excellent analytical, mathematical, and problem-solving skills.
• Strong communication and negotiation abilities, essential for remote collaboration.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple estimating tasks and deadlines effectively.
