Remote Wind Turbine Performance Analyst

About the Role

Our client is seeking a dedicated Remote Wind Turbine Performance Analyst to join their growing renewable energy team. This fully remote position allows you to contribute to the efficiency and optimization of wind farms across South Africa from the comfort of your home office. You will be responsible for monitoring turbine performance, identifying operational issues, and providing data-driven insights to maximize energy production and minimize downtime. This role requires a keen analytical mind and a deep understanding of wind energy technology.

Key Responsibilities

• Monitor real-time performance data from a portfolio of wind turbines using specialized software platforms.
• Analyze operational data to detect anomalies, diagnose faults, and identify areas for performance improvement.
• Generate regular performance reports, including energy production, availability, and key performance indicators (KPIs).
• Collaborate with site technicians and operations teams to troubleshoot technical issues and implement corrective actions.
• Develop and refine data analysis techniques to enhance predictive maintenance strategies and reduce operational costs.
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of monitoring systems and analytical tools.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related quantitative field.
• Minimum of 4 years of experience in wind turbine performance analysis or a related role in the renewable energy sector.
• Proficiency with wind turbine SCADA systems and data analysis software (e.g., MATLAB, Python, R).
• Strong understanding of wind turbine technology, aerodynamics, and power generation principles.
• Excellent data interpretation and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and communicate effectively in a remote setting.
