About the Role

Our client is seeking an accomplished and highly motivated Senior Civil Engineer to join their team in a fully remote capacity, supporting projects across various locations including Bloemfontein . You will take the lead on complex infrastructure design and project management, leveraging your extensive expertise to deliver high-quality civil engineering solutions. This role requires a self-starter with excellent communication skills, capable of working independently while collaborating effectively with distributed teams. You will play a crucial part in ensuring the successful execution of vital infrastructure projects from conceptualization to completion.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the design and development of major civil infrastructure projects, such as transportation networks, water systems, and site development.
• Oversee project planning, scope definition, and technical execution, ensuring adherence to timelines and budgets.
• Conduct advanced engineering analyses, including structural, hydraulic, and geotechnical assessments as needed.
• Manage project risks, identify potential issues, and develop effective mitigation strategies.
• Collaborate virtually with cross‑functional teams, clients, and regulatory bodies to ensure project success.
• Mentor and guide junior engineers remotely, fostering a collaborative and high‑performing team environment.

Requirements

• Master's degree in Civil Engineering or a closely related field.
• 10+ years of progressive experience in civil engineering design and project management.
• Professional Engineer (Pr. Eng) registration is essential.
• Demonstrated expertise in infrastructure design software and project management tools.
• Proven ability to manage large‑scale projects from inception to closeout in a remote setting.
