Remote Electrical Automation Engineer

About the Role

Our client is seeking a proactive and skilled Remote Electrical Automation Engineer to join their globally integrated team. This fully remote position allows you to leverage your expertise in automation and control systems from any location in South Africa. You will be instrumental in designing, programming, and implementing automated solutions for industrial processes, working collaboratively with virtual teams across different time zones. The ideal candidate is a self-starter, proficient in PLC/HMI development, and excels in remote communication and project execution. Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and implement PLC and HMI software for automated industrial equipment and processes.
• Create electrical schematics, control panel layouts, and wiring diagrams for automation systems.
• Configure and integrate sensors, actuators, drives, and other automation components.
• Provide remote technical support, troubleshoot automation issues, and implement solutions efficiently.
• Collaborate virtually with clients, project managers, and other engineers to define project requirements and ensure successful system deployment.
• Stay current with automation technologies and best practices to continuously improve system performance and reliability.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related technical field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in industrial electrical automation and control system design.
• Proven proficiency in programming various PLC platforms (e.g., Siemens, Allen-Bradley) and developing HMI interfaces.
• Strong understanding of industrial electrical codes, safety standards, and system integration principles.
• Excellent remote collaboration and communication skills, with the ability to work independently.
• Experience with SCADA systems and industrial networking protocols is highly desirable.
