Remote Investment Analyst

About the Role

Our client is seeking a meticulous and insightful Remote Investment Analyst to join their globally distributed investment management team. This position is fully remote, offering the flexibility to work from anywhere within South Africa. You will be responsible for conducting in-depth research and analysis of financial markets, securities, and economic trends to support investment decisions. The ideal candidate will possess a strong analytical foundation, excellent research skills, and a passion for uncovering investment opportunities across various asset classes. You will contribute to the formulation of investment strategies and portfolio management, working collaboratively with a team of experienced professionals to achieve client objectives.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough fundamental and quantitative analysis of publicly traded companies and other investment instruments.
• Develop financial models, forecasts, and valuation analyses for potential investments.
• Monitor and analyze macroeconomic trends, market news, and geopolitical events impacting investment portfolios.
• Prepare comprehensive research reports, investment recommendations, and presentations for the investment committee.
• Track portfolio performance, conduct attribution analysis, and provide regular updates.
• Stay abreast of industry best practices, regulatory changes, and emerging investment opportunities.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Mathematics, or a related field.
• Proven experience in investment analysis, equity research, or a similar financial role.
• Strong quantitative and modeling skills, with proficiency in Excel and financial databases (e.g., Bloomberg, Refinitiv).
• Excellent research, analytical, and critical thinking abilities.
• Demonstrated ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks in a remote setting.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills for report writing and presentation.
