Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop electrical systems, including power generation, distribution, and utilization, for aircraft applications.
• Create and maintain detailed electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and harness routing designs using CAD software.
• Perform load analyses, fault current calculations, and power quality assessments.
• Specify electrical components, connectors, and cables, ensuring compliance with aerospace standards.
• Integrate electrical systems with other aircraft subsystems (e.g., avionics, propulsion, structures).
• Conduct troubleshooting and root cause analysis of electrical system malfunctions during development and testing.
• Support system testing, validation, and verification activities, including ground and flight tests.
• Ensure all electrical system designs comply with relevant aviation regulations and airworthiness requirements (e.g., FARs, EASA CS).
• Collaborate with manufacturing teams to ensure seamless production and assembly of electrical systems.
• Provide technical support and guidance to project teams and maintenance personnel.

Requirements

• A Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a closely related field.
• A minimum of 6 years of experience in aircraft electrical systems design and integration.
• Proficiency with electrical CAD software (e.g., SOLIDWORKS Electrical, AutoCAD Electrical, ECAD).
• Strong understanding of AC/DC power systems, electromagnetic compatibility (EMC), and signal integrity.
• Knowledge of aerospace electrical standards and specifications (e.g., MIL-STD, ARP standards).
• Experience with simulation tools for electrical system analysis is a plus.
• Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and diagnostic skills.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, essential for effective remote teamwork.
• Proven ability to manage workload and deliver results independently in a remote setting.
• Must be a South African citizen or hold appropriate work authorization.
