Remote Senior Chemical Engineer - Process Design

About the Role

Our client is looking for a highly experienced Senior Chemical Engineer with a specialization in Process Design to join their team on a fully remote basis. This role is critical for developing conceptual designs, FEED packages, and detailed engineering designs for various chemical plant projects. You will leverage your expertise to ensure designs are safe, efficient, cost-effective, and meet all regulatory requirements. Working remotely, you will collaborate closely with project managers, clients, and engineering teams across different locations, utilizing cutting-edge digital tools. Key Responsibilities

• Lead the development of process flow diagrams (PFDs) and piping & instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs).
• Perform process simulations, mass and energy balances, and equipment sizing calculations.
• Conduct Process Hazard Analyses (PHAs) and ensure safety considerations are integrated into designs.
• Develop technical specifications for process equipment and instrumentation.
• Review and approve design documents prepared by internal teams and external consultants.
• Provide technical support during the construction and commissioning phases of projects, remotely.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering .
• 8+ years of experience in chemical process design and engineering.
• Proficiency in process simulation software such as Aspen Plus, HYSYS , or similar.
• Solid understanding of relevant industry codes, standards (e.g., API, ASME), and best practices.
• Demonstrated ability to manage design tasks and contribute to project deadlines effectively in a remote setting.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills for virtual team environments.
