Remote Senior Bioinformatician

About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Bioinformatician to join their fully remote research team. This role is critical for advancing their groundbreaking work in genomics and personalized medicine, requiring a deep understanding of computational biology and large-scale data analysis. You will be responsible for developing and applying computational approaches to analyze diverse biological datasets, collaborating virtually with researchers across different time zones, and contributing to the interpretation of results that will shape future therapeutic strategies.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and implement scalable bioinformatics pipelines for the analysis of next-generation sequencing (NGS) data.
• Perform statistical analysis and interpretation of genomic, transcriptomic, and proteomic datasets.
• Develop and maintain data management systems and databases for biological information.
• Collaborate closely with experimental biologists and clinicians to address research questions and design experiments.
• Create clear and concise reports and visualizations of analytical results for scientific publications and presentations.
• Contribute to the development of novel algorithms and computational methods for biological data analysis.

Requirements

• Ph.D. or Master's degree in Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, Statistics, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of hands‑on experience in bioinformatics, with a focus on NGS data analysis.
• Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python or Perl, and experience with R for statistical analysis.
• Familiarity with common bioinformatics tools, databases, and reference genomes.
• Strong understanding of statistical principles and machine learning techniques applicable to biological data.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a distributed, remote team environment.
