About the Role

Our client is seeking a detail-oriented and technically proficient Remote Automotive Technical Writer to create clear, concise, and accurate documentation for their range of automotive products and services. Working remotely from Upington or any suitable location, you will be responsible for developing user manuals, service guides, technical bulletins, and online help content. Your ability to translate complex technical information into easily understandable language will be key to supporting customers, technicians, and internal teams. This role offers the chance to shape documentation standards in a flexible, remote setting.

Key Responsibilities

• Research, write, and edit technical documentation for automotive components, software, and procedures.
• Develop user manuals, repair guides, troubleshooting manuals, and knowledge base articles.
• Collaborate with engineers, product managers, and support specialists to gather information and ensure technical accuracy.
• Maintain a consistent style and tone across all documentation, adhering to company standards.
• Update existing documentation to reflect product changes, software updates, and new findings.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Technical Writer , preferably within the automotive or a related technical industry.
• Exceptional writing, editing, and proofreading skills with a strong command of English.
• Ability to understand and explain complex technical concepts clearly and concisely.
• Familiarity with automotive systems and terminology is highly desirable.
• Proficiency with documentation tools and content management systems; ability to work effectively in a remote environment.
