Remote Freight Forwarder

About the Role

Our client is seeking an experienced and self-motivated Remote Freight Forwarder to manage the international and domestic movement of goods for their clients. Working entirely from a home-based office, you will coordinate all aspects of shipping, including booking carriers, preparing customs documentation, and tracking shipments to ensure timely and secure delivery. This role demands excellent organizational skills, a deep understanding of global logistics, and the ability to navigate complex regulations. You will be a crucial link in the supply chain, facilitating efficient trade for businesses operating within and connected to the Northern Cape region.

Key Responsibilities

• Arrange and coordinate the shipment of goods via air, sea, and land transport.
• Prepare and process all necessary shipping documentation, including bills of lading, customs declarations, and invoices.
• Communicate with clients, carriers, and customs brokers to manage shipment details and resolve issues.
• Track shipments throughout their journey, providing timely updates to clients and stakeholders.
• Negotiate rates with carriers and service providers to ensure competitive pricing.
• Stay informed about international trade regulations, customs requirements, and shipping compliance.

Requirements

• Significant experience as a Freight Forwarder or in a related international logistics role.
• In-depth knowledge of international shipping procedures, Incoterms, and customs regulations.
• Proficiency with freight forwarding software and standard office applications.
• Excellent negotiation, communication, and customer service skills.
• Ability to manage multiple shipments and prioritize tasks effectively in a remote environment.
• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving capabilities.
