Remote Pharmaceutical Process Engineer

About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly skilled and innovative Remote Pharmaceutical Process Engineer to contribute to their global manufacturing excellence. This fully remote role is dedicated to the design, optimization, and scale-up of pharmaceutical manufacturing processes. You will play a critical part in ensuring efficient, compliant, and cost-effective production of high-quality medicines. The ideal candidate possesses a strong engineering background, extensive experience in pharmaceutical process development, and the ability to manage complex projects and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams in a remote setting, driving continuous improvement across manufacturing operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and optimize pharmaceutical manufacturing processes, focusing on efficiency, yield, and quality.
• Develop process flow diagrams, mass and energy balances, and P&IDs for new and existing processes.
• Lead process validation activities, including protocol development, execution, and reporting.
• Troubleshoot manufacturing issues and implement sustainable solutions to improve process robustness.
• Conduct risk assessments (e.g., FMEA) and implement control strategies to ensure process safety and compliance.
• Collaborate with equipment vendors, internal engineering, and production teams to implement process improvements and new technologies.

Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum of 6 years of experience in process engineering within the pharmaceutical or biotechnology industry.
• In-depth knowledge of pharmaceutical manufacturing processes (e.g., API synthesis, formulation, sterile filling).
• Experience with process scale-up, validation, and technology transfer.
• Familiarity with regulatory requirements (e.g., cGMP) and process safety principles.
• Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and remote project management skills.
