Remote Electrical Engineer - Power Distribution

About the Role

Our client is seeking an accomplished Remote Electrical Engineer specializing in power distribution systems to join their global engineering team. This fully remote position allows you to contribute to critical infrastructure projects from anywhere. You will be involved in the design, analysis, and optimization of medium and low-voltage distribution networks, ensuring reliability and efficiency. The role demands strong technical expertise, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively with geographically dispersed teams. You will play a key role in modernizing energy delivery infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop electrical distribution systems, including substations, feeder circuits , and protection schemes.
• Perform load analysis, fault studies, and protection coordination for distribution networks using specialized software.
• Specify and select distribution equipment such as transformers, switchgear, and protective relays.
• Develop and review electrical schematics , single-line diagrams, and construction drawings.
• Collaborate with project managers, field engineers, and utility partners in a remote capacity.
• Contribute to the development and implementation of grid modernization initiatives and smart grid technologies.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
• Minimum 7 years of experience in electrical power distribution engineering.
• Proficiency with power system analysis software (e.g., CYME, ETAP, PSS®SINCAL).
• Strong understanding of distribution system design principles, protection philosophies, and equipment standards.
• Experience with renewable energy integration and distributed generation is a plus.
• Excellent communication, organizational, and remote collaboration skills.
