About the Role

Our client is seeking an experienced and insightful Remote Renewable Energy Policy Advisor to contribute to the strategic development and implementation of sustainable energy policies. Working entirely remotely, you will conduct in-depth research, analyze policy impacts, and provide expert recommendations to government agencies, industry stakeholders, and our client's strategic teams. This role is crucial for navigating the complex regulatory landscape and driving the adoption of renewable energy solutions across South Africa. You will leverage your expertise to influence policy decisions, identify opportunities for growth, and help shape a cleaner, more sustainable energy future from your home office.

Key Responsibilities

• Research and analyze national and international renewable energy policies, regulations, and market trends.
• Develop policy recommendations and strategic advice to support the growth of renewable energy deployment.
• Assess the economic, social, and environmental impacts of proposed energy policies.
• Engage with policymakers, regulators, industry associations, and other stakeholders to advocate for favorable policy environments.
• Prepare policy briefs, reports, and presentations for diverse audiences.
• Monitor policy implementation and evaluate program effectiveness.

Requirements

• Master's degree or Ph.D. in Public Policy, Environmental Science, Economics, Law, or a related field with a focus on energy.
• Demonstrated experience (5+ years) in energy policy analysis, development, or advocacy, preferably within the renewable energy sector.
• Strong understanding of the energy market, regulatory frameworks, and policy levers.
• Excellent research, analytical, and critical thinking skills.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication and presentation skills.
• Proven ability to work independently and collaboratively in a remote setting.
