Remote HR Specialist - Employee Relations

About the Role

Our client is seeking a dedicated and experienced Remote HR Specialist with a focus on Employee Relations to join their globally distributed team. This fully remote position involves proactively managing and resolving employee relations issues, promoting a positive and fair workplace culture, and ensuring compliance with all relevant employment laws. You will be a key resource for employees and managers, providing guidance and support on a wide range of workplace matters, and contributing to the development of best practices in employee relations from your home office, supporting operations across various regions including Port Elizabeth.

Key Responsibilities

• Investigate and resolve employee relations issues, including grievances, disputes, and misconduct allegations.
• Develop and implement HR policies and procedures related to employee conduct and performance.
• Provide guidance and coaching to managers on effective employee relations practices.
• Conduct training sessions for employees and managers on relevant HR topics.
• Ensure compliance with labor laws and company policies across all operational areas.
• Proactively identify and address potential employee relations risks.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in HR, with a significant focus on employee relations.
• In-depth knowledge of South African labor law and HR best practices.
• Proven ability to conduct thorough investigations and mediate workplace conflicts.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
• Experience working in a remote or distributed team environment.
• Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Law, or a related field.
