Remote Architectural Technologist

About the Role

Our client is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Architectural Technologist to join their fully remote team, based anywhere in South Africa with excellent connectivity. You will be instrumental in developing technical drawings and specifications for a variety of architectural projects, ensuring compliance with all relevant standards and regulations. This position offers the flexibility of working from home while contributing to impactful designs and collaborating with a national and international team of professionals. The ideal candidate is a proactive problem-solver with a passion for technical accuracy and efficient design execution.

Key Responsibilities

• Produce detailed technical drawings, construction documents, and 3D models using Revit and AutoCAD for diverse architectural projects.
• Collaborate closely with architects and engineers in a virtual environment to ensure design integrity and technical feasibility.
• Review and interpret architectural plans, specifications, and building codes to ensure compliance.
• Assist in the preparation of tender documentation and site visit reports as required.
• Maintain organised digital project files and ensure efficient document control processes are followed remotely.
• Contribute to the development and implementation of BIM standards and best practices within the remote team.

Requirements

• A relevant qualification in Architectural Technology or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience as an Architectural Technologist, with a strong portfolio showcasing technical drawing capabilities.
• Proficiency in Revit is mandatory; strong skills in AutoCAD are also required.
• Familiarity with South African building regulations and National Building Regulations (NBR).
• Excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage workload independently in a remote setting.
• Reliable internet connection and a dedicated home office setup suitable for remote work.
