Remote Machine Design Engineer

About the Role

Our client is actively seeking an innovative and highly skilled Remote Machine Design Engineer to contribute to their dynamic engineering initiatives. This position is fully remote, allowing you to apply your expertise in designing custom machinery and automated systems from your own location, supporting projects potentially near Mahikeng, North West. You will be responsible for conceptualizing, designing, and documenting complex machinery, working closely with clients and internal teams to deliver tailored solutions that enhance efficiency and productivity. This role is ideal for a self-motivated engineer who thrives in a remote setting and is passionate about creating state-of-the-art mechanical designs.

Key Responsibilities

• Conceptualize, design, and detail complex custom machinery and automated systems using advanced CAD software.
• Develop comprehensive mechanical drawings, schematics, and Bills of Materials (BOMs).
• Conduct design reviews and collaborate with manufacturing, controls, and project management teams to ensure successful project execution.
• Perform stress analysis, kinematic simulations, and other engineering calculations to validate designs.
• Troubleshoot design issues and provide technical support during fabrication and commissioning phases.
• Research and integrate new technologies and components to optimize machine performance and cost-effectiveness.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
• Minimum of 7 years of experience in machine design, preferably with custom or automation equipment.
• Expert proficiency in 3D CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, Inventor) and associated simulation tools.
• Strong understanding of mechanical components, actuators, pneumatics, hydraulics, and motion control.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently in a remote environment.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills for remote collaboration.
