Remote Network Infrastructure Engineer

About the Role

Our client is seeking an experienced Remote Network Infrastructure Engineer to manage and enhance their global network operations. This position is pivotal in ensuring the stability, security, and performance of our client's interconnected systems, operating entirely from a remote location. You will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining robust network architectures, troubleshooting complex issues, and proactively optimizing network resources. This role requires a highly self-motivated individual with exceptional technical expertise in network engineering, who thrives in an independent work environment and is dedicated to maintaining seamless connectivity and optimal performance for all users, regardless of their location.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and manage the company's network infrastructure, including routers, switches, firewalls, and VPNs.
• Monitor network performance and availability, identifying and resolving bottlenecks or outages proactively.
• Develop and maintain comprehensive network documentation, including topology diagrams, configuration details, and operational procedures.
• Implement and enforce network security policies and best practices to protect against threats.
• Collaborate with IT teams to plan and execute network upgrades and migrations, ensuring minimal disruption to services.
• Provide Tier 3 support for complex network-related issues, working independently to find solutions.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in network engineering, with a strong focus on infrastructure design and management.
• In-depth knowledge of TCP/IP, routing protocols (e.g., BGP, OSPF), switching technologies, and firewall management.
• Experience with cloud networking concepts and technologies (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP).
• Excellent remote troubleshooting skills and the ability to work autonomously.
• Relevant certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, or equivalent are highly desirable.
