Remote Senior Civil Engineer - Project Management

About the Role

Our client is looking for a seasoned Senior Civil Engineer with extensive experience in Project Management to join their fully remote team, serving projects across South Africa . This role requires a strategic thinker capable of leading complex infrastructure projects from conception to completion, managing budgets, schedules, and stakeholder expectations entirely through virtual collaboration. You will leverage your deep understanding of civil engineering principles and advanced project management methodologies to ensure the successful and efficient delivery of critical infrastructure initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the end-to-end project management of large-scale civil engineering projects, ensuring on-time and within-budget delivery.
• Develop detailed project plans, including scope definition, resource allocation, and risk management strategies.
• Oversee all phases of the project lifecycle, from feasibility studies and design to construction and commissioning, remotely.
• Manage client relationships, contractor performance, and stakeholder communications effectively via virtual platforms.
• Ensure adherence to all relevant engineering standards, safety regulations, and quality control procedures.
• Conduct virtual project reviews, progress monitoring, and prepare comprehensive reports for senior management.

Requirements

• BEng or BSc in Civil Engineering.
• Professional registration as a PrEng with ECSA is mandatory.
• A minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in civil engineering, with at least 5 years in project management roles.
• Proven success in managing complex, multi-disciplinary infrastructure projects remotely.
• Expertise in project management software (e.g., MS Project, Primavera P6) and collaborative online tools.
• Exceptional leadership, communication, and negotiation skills, adapted for a remote work environment.
