Remote Mechanical Engineer

About the Role

Our client is looking for a highly motivated and self-directed Remote Mechanical Engineer to contribute to their innovative projects, working from anywhere in South Africa . This role is central to the design, development, and optimization of mechanical systems and components, requiring a strong understanding of engineering principles and excellent communication skills to thrive in a distributed team environment. You will be instrumental in delivering high-quality engineering solutions while collaborating virtually with colleagues across different locations, bringing expertise to our client's operations without the need for physical presence in Richards Bay .

Key Responsibilities

• Design, analyze, and test mechanical systems and components using industry-standard software.
• Develop detailed engineering drawings, specifications, and Bill of Materials (BOM)
• Conduct feasibility studies and technical assessments for new product designs and improvements.
• Collaborate effectively with remote team members, project managers, and stakeholders via virtual channels.
• Troubleshoot and resolve design-related issues that arise during development and production phases.
• Stay abreast of new technologies and methodologies in mechanical engineering to propose innovative solutions.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
• Minimum 5 years of professional experience in mechanical design and analysis.
• Proficiency with CAD software (e.g., CATIA, Inventor) and simulation tools (e.g., FEA, CFD).
• Demonstrated ability to work independently and manage time effectively in a remote setting
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills for virtual collaboration.
• Strong problem-solving capabilities and attention to detail.
