About the Role
Our client is seeking a highly competent and motivated Remote Mine Ventilation Engineer to provide essential expertise to their mining operations across the country. This role requires a specialist who can design, analyze, and optimize mine ventilation systems from a remote location, ensuring safe and healthy working conditions underground. You will be responsible for maintaining air quality, controlling temperature and humidity, and managing dust and gas levels through strategic ventilation planning. Key Responsibilities
- Design and optimize mine ventilation networks to ensure adequate airflow and environmental conditions.
- Conduct ventilation surveys and analyze data to identify potential risks and areas for improvement.
- Develop strategies for controlling heat, humidity, dust, and noxious gases underground.
- Specify and select ventilation equipment, including fans, ducting, and regulators.
- Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and environmental regulations related to mine ventilation.
- Collaborate with mine planning and operations teams to integrate ventilation requirements into mine designs.
Requirements
- MSc or MEng in Mining Engineering with a specialization in Ventilation, or a related field.
- Minimum of 6 years of experience in mine ventilation engineering, with a strong focus on underground operations.
- Proficiency with mine ventilation modeling software (e.g., Ventsim, WENDIR).
- Solid understanding of thermodynamics, fluid dynamics, and air quality management principles.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Proven ability to work independently and communicate effectively in a remote setting.
