Remote Payroll Accountant

About the Role

Our client is looking for a meticulous and experienced Remote Payroll Accountant to manage their payroll operations comprehensively from any location in South Africa . This fully remote position is crucial for ensuring timely and accurate payment of salaries, managing statutory deductions, and maintaining compliance with all labor and tax laws. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in payroll processing, an excellent understanding of payroll software, and the ability to work independently and efficiently in a virtual setting, ensuring confidentiality and accuracy in all payroll-related activities.

Key Responsibilities

• Process full-cycle payroll accurately and efficiently for all employees, ensuring compliance with legislative requirements.
• Manage statutory deductions, including PAYE, UIF, and SDL, ensuring timely submissions to relevant authorities.
• Reconcile payroll accounts and investigate and resolve any discrepancies.
• Maintain up-to-date employee payroll records and ensure data integrity.
• Prepare various payroll reports for management, HR, and finance departments.
• Stay informed about changes in payroll legislation and implement necessary adjustments.

Requirements

• A relevant qualification in Accounting, Payroll Management, or a related field.
• Minimum of 4 years of hands-on experience in payroll processing and accounting.
• Proficiency with payroll software (e.g., VIP, Sage) and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Solid understanding of South African payroll legislation, tax laws, and labor regulations.
• Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy, with strong organizational skills.
• Ability to manage workload effectively and meet strict deadlines in a remote environment.
