Structural Engineer - Building Design (Remote)

About the Role

Key Responsibilities

• Perform structural analysis and design for buildings and other structures using advanced engineering principles.
• Develop detailed structural drawings, specifications, and calculation reports using industry‑standard software.
• Collaborate effectively with remote architectural and project management teams throughout the design and construction phases.
• Ensure designs comply with relevant building codes, standards, and regulations, including South African National Standards (SANS).
• Conduct peer reviews of designs and provide technical guidance to team members.
• Respond to RFIs and address structural queries during the construction phase, maintaining clear communication channels.

Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Structural Engineering or a related field.
• Minimum of 6 years of professional experience in structural engineering design.
• Professional Engineer (Pr Eng) registration with ECSA is required.
• Proficiency in structural analysis software such as SAP2000, ETABS, Revit Structure, or similar.
• Demonstrated ability to work autonomously and manage multiple projects effectively in a remote setting.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills for remote collaboration.
