About the Role

Our client is seeking an experienced Structural Project Engineer to join their fully remote team, focusing on the project lifecycle from conception through to completion. This role is critical for overseeing the structural integrity and execution of diverse construction projects. You will collaborate closely with a dispersed team of architects, designers, and construction professionals, utilizing advanced virtual collaboration tools to ensure project success. Key Responsibilities

• Manage structural engineering projects from initial concept through to final construction, ensuring adherence to scope, budget, and timeline.
• Review and approve structural designs, calculations, and shop drawings produced by design teams.
• Coordinate structural engineering activities with other disciplines, clients, and contractors virtually.
• Oversee site inspections and quality control remotely, or through designated site personnel.
• Identify and mitigate project risks, proactively addressing potential structural challenges.
• Communicate project status, progress, and issues effectively to stakeholders through virtual meetings and reports.

Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Structural Engineering or Civil Engineering.
• Minimum of 7 years of experience in structural engineering project management.
• Professional Engineer (Pr. Eng) registration is highly preferred.
• Strong knowledge of structural analysis software and BIM technologies.
• Familiarity with South African building codes and construction practices.
• Demonstrated ability to manage projects effectively in a remote work environment.
