Telecoms Field Technician (Remote)

About the Role

Our client is seeking a dedicated Telecoms Field Technician to join their remote team, servicing the Port Elizabeth area and surrounding regions. This role is hands-on and vital for ensuring the quality and functionality of our client's telecommunications services directly at customer sites. You will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of telecommunications equipment, providing essential support to end-users. Key Responsibilities

• Install, configure, test, and maintain telecommunications equipment and services at customer premises.
• Perform diagnostic tests and troubleshoot issues to ensure optimal network performance.
• Respond to service calls and resolve technical problems in a timely and efficient manner.
• Educate customers on service usage and provide basic technical support.
• Adhere to safety protocols and company procedures during all site visits.
• Maintain accurate records of work performed, equipment used, and time spent in the field.

Requirements

• Matriculation certificate or equivalent qualification.
• Proven experience as a field technician or in a similar role within the telecoms industry.
• Strong understanding of telecommunications systems, including copper and fiber optics, modems, and routers.
• Proficiency in using hand tools, testing equipment, and diagnostic software.
• Good communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and travel within the assigned remote service area.
