About the Role
Our client is seeking a skilled Transport Planner to join their operations based in Bloemfontein , with the option for a hybrid work arrangement. This role is essential for designing and managing efficient transportation routes and schedules to meet delivery demands. You will play a key part in optimizing resource allocation, minimizing transit times, and ensuring compliance with traffic regulations. The ideal candidate is highly organized, analytical, and possesses strong geographical knowledge, working effectively with team members both in the office and remotely. Your planning expertise will directly contribute to the smooth functioning and cost-effectiveness of our logistics network.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and optimize daily, weekly, and monthly transport schedules.
- Plan efficient routes for delivery vehicles, considering traffic, delivery windows, and vehicle capacity.
- Coordinate with drivers and dispatch teams to ensure smooth execution of transport plans.
- Monitor transport operations, making real-time adjustments as needed to address disruptions.
- Analyze transport data to identify areas for improvement in efficiency and cost reduction.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant transportation regulations and company policies.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Transport Planner or in a similar logistics planning role.
- Proficiency with route planning software and transportation management systems.
- Strong geographical knowledge and understanding of traffic patterns.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Effective communication skills, capable of working with both on-site and remote colleagues .
