Supervisor / Manager - Accounting & Tax (Remote)

Want a senior role without the daily commute? This regional accounting practice is offering a remote-flexible Supervisor / Manager position, with just one office visit a fortnight.

About the firm

Join a well-established, CPA-accredited accounting and financial services practice in regional Victoria. The firm has a strong reputation, loyal long-term clients and a supportive team culture that values growth, training and career development. They're now looking for a Supervisor / Manager to help lead the next chapter of the business.

About the role

This is a senior position for an accountant who enjoys both technical work and developing people. You'll manage a portfolio of clients while leading, mentoring and supporting a small team. You will:

  • Lead, coach and develop a team of accountants, and work closely with the firm's offshore team to keep work flowing and quality high
  • Allocate, review and sign off work prepared by the offshore team, giving clear feedback and helping lift their capability
  • Manage a portfolio of clients across trades, medical, agriculture, hospitality and retail, as their primary point of contact
  • Oversee BAS, IAS, FBT and payroll tax compliance, and the team's lodgement workflow
  • Manage WIP, budgets and billing across your portfolio and team
  • Provide proactive tax planning and advisory support, and handle complex queries escalated by the team
  • Work closely with the directors on client strategy and practice improvement

What's on offer

  • True remote flexibility: work from home, with an office visit to the firm's regional Victorian office just once a fortnight. No daily commute, and a firm already set up to work across locations.
  • Modern cloud-based systems that make remote work seamless
  • Regular in-house training and industry conferences
  • Employee Assistance Program
  • Team events, regular team lunches and wellness initiatives
  • A collaborative, down-to-earth culture where your contribution is valued

About you

  • Extensive public practice experience, with previous experience supervising or leading staff
  • Degree qualified, and CPA/CA qualified
  • Strong technical knowledge of Australian taxation and compliance
  • Excellent leadership, communication and client-service skills
  • Comfortable managing your own portfolio while reviewing and developing others' work
  • Experience with Xero, MYOB, FYI Docs and/or QuickBooks (advantageous, not essential)
  • Self-motivated and organised, so you work well in a remote setup
  • A proactive approach and a commitment to quality work
