About the Role

Our client is seeking an organized and detail-oriented Production Planner to join their remote operations team. This role is integral to ensuring the efficient scheduling and coordination of manufacturing activities across various production sites. You will be responsible for developing and managing production schedules, optimizing resource allocation, and ensuring timely delivery of manufactured goods while collaborating closely with on-site teams and management through digital platforms. This is an excellent opportunity for a planner who excels in a remote setting, utilizing analytical skills to drive manufacturing efficiency and maintain seamless production flow from a distance, contributing to operational excellence in the East London region without needing to be physically present.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, manage, and optimize production schedules to meet demand forecasts and production targets.
  • Coordinate with supply chain and logistics teams to ensure timely availability of raw materials and components.
  • Monitor production progress, identify potential delays or bottlenecks, and implement proactive solutions.
  • Collaborate with plant managers and supervisors remotely to ensure adherence to schedules and address any operational challenges.
  • Analyze production data to identify trends, forecast future needs, and improve planning processes.
  • Maintain accurate production records and generate reports on scheduling performance and resource utilization.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, Business, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 4 years of experience in production planning or scheduling within a manufacturing environment.
  • Proficiency with ERP systems and production planning software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Advanced Planning Systems).
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively remotely.
  • Experience in a remote work environment is highly desirable.
