About the Role

Our client is seeking an experienced and forward-thinking Automation Engineer to join their fully remote team, supporting their advanced manufacturing operations near Mossel Bay . This role is pivotal in enhancing production efficiency, reducing manual intervention, and improving overall system reliability through the design, implementation, and maintenance of automated systems. You will collaborate with engineering and operations teams virtually to identify opportunities for automation, develop control strategies, and troubleshoot complex automation challenges. Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and implement automated control systems for manufacturing equipment.
• Program and troubleshoot PLCs, HMIs, and SCADA systems for various automation projects.
• Develop and maintain automation software and documentation.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams remotely to define automation requirements and solutions.
• Oversee the integration of new automated systems into existing production lines.
• Provide remote technical support and guidance for automation-related issues.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Computer Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum of 8 years of experience in industrial automation and control systems.
• Proficiency in programming various PLC platforms (e.g., Siemens, Allen-Bradley) and HMI software.
• Strong understanding of robotics, sensors, and other automation components.
• Excellent remote communication and problem-solving skills.
• Experience with robot programming and vision systems is highly desirable.
