About the Role

Our client is looking for an experienced Instrumentation and Control Engineer to join their team in a fully remote capacity. This role is essential for the design, implementation, and maintenance of sophisticated control systems and instrumentation across various industrial applications. You will work collaboratively with a remote team of engineers and technicians, leveraging digital tools to develop robust and efficient automation solutions. This position requires a deep understanding of control theory, PLCs, SCADA systems, and industrial communication protocols. We are seeking a proactive problem-solver with excellent communication skills who can thrive in a virtual work environment and contribute to the successful delivery of complex automation projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and develop PLC logic, HMI interfaces, and SCADA systems for industrial automation applications.
  • Select appropriate instrumentation, sensors, and control hardware for various process requirements.
  • Implement and commission control systems, ensuring seamless integration with existing plant infrastructure.
  • Troubleshoot and optimize control system performance, addressing issues remotely and coordinating with on-site personnel when necessary.
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation, including P&IDs, control narratives, logic diagrams, and functional specifications.
  • Collaborate effectively with process engineers, project managers, and clients in a remote team setting.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Control Engineering, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in instrumentation and control system design and implementation.
  • Proficiency with major PLC platforms (e.g., Siemens, Rockwell Automation) and HMI/SCADA software.
  • Strong understanding of process control loops, PID tuning, and industrial communication protocols (e.g., Modbus, Profibus).
  • Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Proven experience working effectively in a fully remote environment with strong virtual collaboration skills.
