About the Role
Our client is seeking a highly competent Instrumentation and Control Engineer for a fully remote position, supporting their diverse operational needs across various sites, including those near Mahikeng, North West. This role involves the design, implementation, and optimization of complex instrumentation and control systems that are vital for process efficiency, safety, and data acquisition in industrial settings. You will leverage your expertise to ensure the accurate functioning of sensors, transmitters, control valves, and automation logic, working collaboratively with remote project teams and site personnel. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced engineer to contribute significantly from a remote location.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, configure, and commission instrumentation and control systems , including DCS, PLC, and SCADA platforms.
- Develop P&IDs, loop diagrams, cause & effect charts, and functional design specifications.
- Select appropriate instruments (e.g., pressure, temperature, flow, level transmitters) and control valves based on application requirements.
- Troubleshoot and optimize control loops and automation sequences to improve process performance and safety.
- Provide remote technical support for calibration, maintenance, and upgrades of instrumentation and control hardware/software.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Mechatronics, or Chemical Engineering.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in instrumentation and control engineering, preferably in the process industries.
- Proficiency with major DCS/PLC platforms and HMI/SCADA software packages.
- Strong understanding of calibration techniques and relevant industry standards (e.g., ISA).
- Excellent remote communication, problem-solving, and documentation skills.
